Life is not a bed of roses, it has got its own ups and downs which we have got no control! But an important element that we need to realize at all times is that even though we have a wavering life, we have an unchanging God who is the Alpha and the Omega- the beginning and the End. Nothing that happens in your life is unknown to Him, He has charted your life beautifully and you will see His amazing plans for your life blossom. Amidst happiness and sorrow, certainties and confusion our loving Heavenly Father is with us! That is a wonderful hope for those who are in Christ.

There are various hills and valleys noted in the Bible which could be taken as symbolism to our walks of life:

1) In Psalms 23:4, David talks about the Valley of Shadow of death.

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil;

For You are with me;

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." (Psalms 23:4)

The darkest times of our life, when we are in despair and hopelessness. We think that the sun has set in our life and there is no way out of these circumstances, but even during that season, David declares with confidence that we shouldn't fear about anything because our Almighty God is with us and He leads us at all times. If our Creator is with us, why should we be afraid? Is anything too hard for Him?

Look at your present circumstances and declare words of hope and life into them!

2) In Ezekial 37, we see a valley of dry bones. Ezekiel 37 :1-3 goes like this, "The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know."

At times, God brings you to places of dryness - physical, mental, spiritual and financial dryness. When the world looks, the problems are too many and they are extremely dry- with no hope! But it is just a test of faith!

A child of God should be confident of the authority and power of God. God is asking you today to prophecy right into your dryness, your hopeless situation; when the breath of God enters your impossibilities, you will see miracles in front of your very eyes! Shut doors will be opened, chains would be broken, new possibilities would be created for you and there will be a breakthrough in every realm. God is working in the background and the world will soon realize the glory of God through your life.

3) In 1 Kings chapter 18, we see the power of God being revealed on Mount Carmel.

And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word. Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.”

Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!” (1 Kings 18:36-39)

If you repair the altar of the LORD , that is if you restore your relationship with God, He will do great and mighty acts of power in your life. The fire of God will fall into your situation and pave way for you. You will see the cloud of hope mentioned in verse 44 rising in your life.

Then it came to pass the seventh time,that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab,‘Prepare your chariot,and go down before the rain stops you.’ ” (1 Kings 18:44)

Have faith in whom we serve! We serve an Almighty God who is in control of everything!
